About WHYY
WHYY is the Philadelphia region's leading public media station, broadcasting intelligent and insightful news and information, entertainment, and educational content. From Radio Times with Marty Moss-Coane to Fresh Air, from On Canvas to Creative Campus, WHYY is committed to brining you the best local and national content.
WHYY devotes more than 60 hours per week to broadcasting television programs that educate and engage our young viewers. Parents and caregivers value this safe haven, and children are better prepared for success in school because of the lessons they learn from Curious George, Big Bird, Sid the Science Kid, Arthur and Clifford.
In addition to bringing you award-winning programming on-air, WHYY also delivers fresh and exciting content online at whyy.org and in-person at the numerous events we host throughout the year. Whether a panel discussion, a web forum, a film screening, or a social gathering, when you experience WHYY, you are joining one of the region's most informed and active communities.
For the little ones in your life, our Y Kids Club helps to build strong childhood foundations by creating off-air experiences that stretch young imaginations and nurture the entire family.
Our brand new addition, the WHYY Learning Lab, scheduled to open in 2010 (you can check out our progress here) will allow us to bring the world even closer by giving you hands-on experience with news and creative content production. Talk about a 3-D experience!
