Living for Today and Planning for Tomorrow is the Alzheimer's Disease Center's first conference designed especially for individuals with dementia in the early stage and family members who care for someone at any stage. It offers attendees cutting edge information on dementia, with a focus on providing day-to-day care and planning for the future. Conference Press Release.

Conference speakers are drawn from Philadelphia's nationally known leaders in aging and dementia care. They bring a range of expertise in medicine, nursing, bioethics and health policy. Speakers include:


  • Drs. Clark, Karlawish, and Trojanowski, whose combined expertise addresses unraveling the causes of dementia, developing new treatments and improving the care for persons with dementia;


  • Valerie Cotter, a leading educator on the care of older adults, co-edited with Dr. Strumpf a groundbreaking text for geriatric nurse practitioners.


  • Drs. Strumpf and Evans have received wide acclaim for their research to improve the care of frail elders.


  • Wendy Campbell, President of the Delaware Valley chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, served for almost 20 years as a Vice President of Pennsylvania Hospital.
