Circle of
Care explores how the arts and humanities can improve
communication and personalize healthcare for patients,
families and healthcare professionals.
Here
are the remarkable stories it tells »
Through metaphor and symbol, the arts have the power to articulate and communicate
feelings and meaning, providing a language for body, mind
and spirit — the whole person.
WHYY’s Wider Horizons service and its Caring
Community coalition partnered to create Circle
of Care to help both professionals and the public
understand the value of the arts in healing and coping
with pain and suffering.
The project
was awarded a major grant from Sound Partners for Community
Health, a national project of the Benton Foundation, funded
by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Additional
funding was provided by The College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
