WHYY Wider Horizons and the Caring Community Coalition joined with the Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Valley Chapter to host a Town Meeting for family caregivers on Alzheimer's Disease on April 19, 2004 from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at WHYY's Technology Center in Philadelphia.

A panel of experts and family caregivers shared information on research, care and support.

Panelists included:

• Sam Gandy III MD PhD Director of the Farber Institute for Neurosciences, Thomas Jefferson University

  
  

• Laura Gitlin PhD, Director, Community and Homecare Research Division, Thomas Jefferson University

  
  

• Danita Vetter, Vice President, Planning and Education of the Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Valley Chapter

  
  

• Carol Francis and Florence Collins, caregivers of their husbands who live with Alzheimer's Disease and Frontotemporal Dementia, who were featured in WHYY's Circle of Love: Living with Alzheimer's.
