American Experience profiles heroes and pioneers, as well as the famous and the little-known events caught up in the great adventure of our Nation's history. David McCullough hosts and narrates. Schedule varies.

ANTIQUES ROADSHOW

The concept is simple: Members of the public bring antiques and collectibles to an event for free verbal appraisals from specialists from the country's leading auction houses, as well as independent appraisers and dealers. The results are magical: cameras capture the moments of revelation as experts and owners explore the fascinating stories surrounding yard sale bargains and family heirlooms. Monday and Friday, 8PM to 9PM and Saturday, 12Noon to 1PM.

MASTERPIECE THEATRE

Pulitzer prize-winning host Russell Baker provides a captivating start to each two-hour presentation of classic favorites in literature and on stage. This acclaimed series provides new adaptations of old favorites such as Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice and the Peabody award winning miniseries David Copperfield. Sunday, 9PM to 11PM.

GREAT PERFORMANCES

This series offers the viewing audience the finest in artistic expression. Great Performances is the premiere television showcase for drama, music and dance. Special films and recorded performances highlight the work of both the legendary artist and the budding young genius. Schedule varies.

Lawrence Welk is acknowledged as an "American Institution," an icon in the history of TV. Welk is said to have had the most loyal and affluent audience in television history. This series, edited for public television, has introductions by "America's Music Man" himself. Saturday, 7PM to 8PM.
