To create this new flavor, Bassetts partnered with WHYY to create a new flavor by asking WHYY’s audience to submit their ideas for a WHYY themed ice cream flavor. From those entries, WHYY and Bassetts selected five finalists, which were then voted on by WHYY audience members. With more than 9,500 votes cast in the contest, the winning flavor, submitted by Sean O’Halloran of Oreland, PA, is a scrumptious blend of Bassetts vanilla ice cream, chocolate covered pretzel pieces, and a smooth ribbon of rich butterscotch.
