Certainly, one of the treasures of this area is its coastlines. In the spirit of understanding and appreciating sea and shore, the Delaware Estuary Program will be sponsoring, on each of the next three Sundays, an event called "Coast Day" in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.

Pennsylvania's Coast Day will be this Sunday, September 29, at the Fairmont Water Works in Philadelphia. This first-ever Coast Day celebration in Pennsylvania will feature family-oriented entertainment and hands-on activities by some of our region's most influential environmental artists. Coast Day Delaware is next Sunday, October 6, at the College of Marine Studies of the University of Delaware in Lewes. They'll have ship tours, marine critter touch tanks, and a nautical craft show, among other activities. Coast Day New Jersey is the following Sunday, October 13, at Cape May and Point Pleasant Beach.
