WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 13 - CONFERENCE THIS WEEKEND

This coming weekend, noted primatologist and environmental activist Jane Goodall will headline a panel of distinguished experts in a conference at Haverford College, outside of Philadelphia. Titled "Global Responsibility: A Reason for Hope," the conference will focus on our individual and collective responsibilities to seek solutions for global problems.

Other speakers at the conference include Wangari Maathai, founder of the Greenbelt movement in Kenya, a group that's planted several million trees and educated millions of people about deforestation. Also scheduled to speak is Lenedra Carroll whose organization, Higher Ground for Humanity, works to bring safe drinking water to developing countries such as Bangladesh and Tanzania.

The conference is free to students and teachers from area schools, while there's a small fee for others. You can register for the conference and get more information about it on the web, or by calling 610-668-5480.
