WEDNESDAY APRIL 18 - STUDYING METEOROLOGY
I get a lot of phone calls from high school students and their parents about
where to go to school to study to be a meteorologist. There are several dozen
colleges and universities in the U.S. that have a Department of Meteorology or
Atmospheric Sciences and offer a four-year Bachelor's degree. And a few of
these schools are relatively close by.
In Pennsylvania, Millersville University near Lancaster offers a Bachelor of
Science degree in Meteorology, as does Penn State, which has the largest
Meteorology Department in the country. In New Jersey, Rutgers University at
New Brunswick also offers a B.S. in Meteorology. In the First State, the
University of Delaware has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography, with an
emphasis in Climatology, and a B.S. program in Environmental Science with a
concentration in the Atmospheric Sciences.
For all the information you'll need about schools that offer such degrees,
