THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 10 - WEB SITE: IMAGES FROM TERRA
In December 1999, NASA successfully launched a satellite named "Terra" - that's Latin for "earth", starting a new era in the exploration of our own planet. Terra can simultaneously measure the atmosphere, the oceans, and land surfaces from space, helping scientists monitor global change.
To show off the data observed by Terra and other satellites, NASA has created a new web site. There you can view images gathered over the last decade from various satellites. You'll find everything from sea surface temperature to vegetation cover to global rainfall.
The address is
earthobservatory.nasa.gov.
I hope you enjoy this unique view from space!
