Through interviews with those closest to him, film clips and archival interviews with the director himself, this American Masters program highlights the life and career of director George Cukor, who defied odds when he went created some of the century's best-loved movies, including Camille and Little Women, after he suffered what might be considered the greatest setback in Hollywood history when he was fired as director of Gone With the Wind. For Oklahoma fishermen, there's nothing quite like the thrill of catching a 60-pound catfish with their bare hands. For hundreds of years, they've been diving into creeks, rivers and lakes, in search of bank-dwelling catfish. These murky waters are home to the wild world of noodling. Okie Noodling captures the excitement of a sport that has hooked three Oklahoma families for generations. The award-winning documentary Okie Noodling chronicles the fishing tradition from its roots as a Native American hunting practice to its present-day status as a sport with its own distinctive sub-culture. Okie Noodling includes a colorful cast of characters who impart their philosophies, techniques, horror stories and passion for the sport.
