8:30 PM "The Long Road to War" a FRONTLINE Special Report
America appears to be within days of attacking Iraq. Many observers believe President Bush may soon signal to weapons inspectors, diplomats and members of the press that Iraq will come under fire and they should leave the country. Once again, the U.S finds itself about to battle Iraq, although this time it will likely not be part of a grand coalition. How did the nation come to the brink of another war with Saddam Hussein? In this two-hour special "The Long Road to War," FRONTLINE draws on its extensive archives of more than 12 years of reporting on Iraq to tell the history of the U.S. confrontation with Saddam. The special will examine how the West armed Iraq, the mind and methods of Saddam Hussein, the origins of the first Gulf War and its ragged end, the frustrating effort to disarm Iraq through U.N. inspections, how Saddam survived efforts to undermine his power, and the long-standing effort by Washington hawks to remove him.

10:30 PM What's Next For Iraq: A Now With Bill Moyers Special Edition
In "What's Next for Iraq: A NOW with Bill Moyers Special Edition," NOW goes inside crucial issues facing the nation as war with Iraq is imminent. The sixty-minute broadcast examines possible scenarios for the future of Iraq. Today as top advisors in the Pentagon and the State Department battle over what kind of government should be left to lead Iraq, NOW examines the possible scenarios for Iraq after Saddam Hussein. The broadcast includes an interview with prominent Iraqi dissident Kanan Makiya, who believes it is in the national interest of the United States to build a democracy in Iraq led by an Iraqi government. Makiya, who met with President Bush earlier this year, sheds light on what he believes are the Bush Administration's plans for Iraq after war. Also on the program, Bill Moyers interviews outgoing chairman and CEO of the CNN News Group Walter Isaacson and historian Simon Schama for their perspectives. This special edition of NOW with Bill Moyers follows a two-hour FRONTLINE Special Report on "The Long Road to War."
