The following year in 1996, WHYY and its educational partners in the Delaware Valley Distance Learning Consortium launch the WHYY Home College Service -- the largest start-up provider of distance learning for adults in the PBS system -- to offer students from all walks of life a convenient way to fulfill their dream of earning a college degree.
