How do I use this MP3 player?
When you plug the player into a USB port on your computer, it will be recognized as a Removable Drive. To add a MP3 file onto the player, simply drag that file to the Removable Drive. Because this player also acts as a flash drive, you can drag any kind of file onto for transport from computer to computer. Also, included with your player are more detailed instructions that can also be viewed here: Page 1 | Page 2

What kind of files can this player play?
This player can play audio files with .mp3 or .wma extentions, but NOT files that you purchase from online music stores such as iTunes or Audible.com. This is because these providers encode the audio files with Digital Rights Management tools that may limit your ability to play those files on some devices.

When I try to change something on my player, it says that the disk is write-protected. Why?
You may have your Hold switch to the left. To prevent this, safely remove the player from your computer, push the Hold switch back to the right and plug the player in your computer again.

I just received my MP3 player and it is not turning on. What's wrong?
These players are shipped with a small piece of paper on the battery so that they will not accidentally run and drain the battery. Simply open the battery cap and remove the piece of paper that is in the way.

When I try to play a file on my player, it turns off and restarts. Why is this?
You may be trying to play a file that is protected by Digital Rights Management software (see above). Unfortunately, this player cannot play such files.

My MP3 player doesn’t fit correctly into the USB port on my computer. What should I do?
The best thing to do is to purchase a USB extension cable, which can be found at many electronics and office retail stores.

I downloaded a podcast from iTunes, but when I put it on the player, it doesn’t play. What’s wrong?
Sometimes podcast software downloads files in formats other than .mp3 that may not play on your player. To get around this, you should be able to convert the file to .mp3. Please consult your software documentation on how to do this.

My MP3 player isn't working correctly. What should I do?
You may need to change the battery. If this does not help, please contact WHYY's Member & Audience Services at 215-351-0511.
