Who we are: The generosity of corporations and foundations, as well as financial gifts from over 130,000 individual members, makes everything we do possible on WHYY TV12, WHYY 91FM, DTV55, and whyy.org. It also makes possible our efforts in the Independence Foundation Civic Space for public forums.

$2,500 - $4,999 Challenge on WHYY 91FM

Challenging the listening audience to call in with their own pledge of support. All benefits at the $1,000 level plus:


Recognition

  • Company name appears on the scrolling marquee on the exterior of the WHYY building on the date of the Challenge
  • Repeated mentions of company name on air during challenge period

Employee Involvement

  • Employee volunteers receive tour of station
  • Opportunity to send volunteers from company for phone bank while on-air
  • Employees and retirees receive a discounted individual membership at $35 for new members only ($40 is regular fee)

$5,000-$9,999 Challenge on WHYY TV 12

Challenging the viewing audience to call in with their own pledge of support. All of the benefits at the $1,000 plus:

  • Frequent on-air mention acknowledging your company or organization during special Television Drives
  • Company representative is given a 2-3 minute interview on-air (representative may also present the check at that time)
  • Company representative receives a videotape or audiotape copy of that interview
  • Opportunity to send volunteers from company for phone bank while on-air
Print Recognition
  • Company name appears on the scrolling marquee on the exterior of the WHYY building on the date of the Challenge
  • Thank-you in Annual Report online
Hospitality and Employee Benefits

$10,000-$24,999 Challenge on WHYY TV 12

  • How To Get Your Story On The Air (Or In The Paper) Do you know whom to contact when your company needs publicity? Learn how to navigate the newsroom chain of command and maximize your chances of making air - or ink.

  • How The News Media Works Who decides what is "news" and how do they do it? An insightful behind-the-scenes look at what motivates the media and how it affects day-to-day coverage of events.

  • WHYY technology-related presentation for employees at the corporate location
Meeting Space
  • Opportunity to use the WHYY Independence Foundation Civic Space for one business event rent-free (direct costs such as security, catering, setup, breakdown, cleaning, a/v, etc. would need to be covered by sponsoring corporation)
  • 15% discount on subsequent event/meeting space rentals (discount does not apply to direct costs--see above list)
Recognition
  • Corporate name to appear on Ticker Tape (exterior of WHYY building) on date(s) of company's Civic Space event, and a WHYY tour for clients/customers/employees

Sponsorship of Events beginning at $3,000

Sum Sponsorship levels vary and benefits include:
