Season Preview
The first program samples some of the artists you'll hear later in the season, including Randy Newman, Youssou N'Dour and Steve Earle. Newman starts things off with "Great Nations of Europe," followed by the iconic Emmylou Harris singing "Strong Hand"; Earle on "John Walker Blues"; "Yakaar" by N'Dour; and selections from Bill Frisell and The Kronos Quartet. Composer John Adams (pictured) also conducts the Zankel Band in "Concerto in Slendro."

Creators at Carnegie
Listen to music performed by some of today's most celebrated songwriters, jazz and classical performers and international stars during this weekly NPR series. Hosted by Fred Child (pictured), each program presents one-hour concerts from Carnegie Hall's renowned Isaac Stern Auditorium and Zankel Hall -- the venue's newest, "underground" performance space -- as it takes listeners behind the music with commentary from the artists. Among this season's performers are composer John Adams; folk singer k.d. lang; African singers Rokia Traore and Youssou N'Dour; saxophonist Joshua Redman; and rocker Brian Wilson.
