and contemporary holiday music at St. Clemens Church in Philadelphia.

into the hour-long presentation.

Messiah
NPR
and CBC/Radio Canada join forces for an international broadcast
of Handel's masterpiece, featuring an American orchestra with
a Canadian conductor and choir. Quebec City conductor Bernard
Labadie leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the singers of his
hometown Chapelle de Quebec and four world-class soloists for
an all-star performance of this holiday classic, live from the
stunning acoustics of the new Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los
Angeles. Hosted by Lisa Simeone and Mario Paquet.

A
public radio tradition. Master comedian Jonathan Winters presents
a distinctive reading of Dickens' holiday classic, using a special

Kwanzaa special explores the many forms and faces of the Trickster
in African folk lore. Madafo Lloyd Wilson returns to host A Season's
Griot 2004 , and this year, he looks at one of the most ubiquitous
characters in world mythology. As Wilson says, "He'll get
your goat, and he just might keep it, but there is no better teacher
than the Trickster!"
