International Arts Award

The International Arts Award is given to a gay or lesbian, who has made an internationally important contribution to world arts and culture. The Preeminent award in the arts of gay and lesbian community, the recipient is Academy Award nominee and British Isle Knighted, Sir Ian McKellen. With a montage of clips from some of his stellar and versatile acclaimed films, Sir Ian is honored in this one-hour ceremony by movie industry notables and choral tributes. Sir Ian is not only one of the world's leading actors, but over the past decade an out and outspoken leader for gay and lesbian emancipation. Special thanks to Keith Stern, Philadelphia Gay Men's Chorus and the Bridge Ensemble.
