Become an It’s Our City opinion contributor
Image credit: lumaxart It’s Our City is seeking short essays to post on our website. Please email us a short op-ed of no more than 500 words about something you think Philadelphia government is already doing well or an area where it needs improvement. For example you could write about a campaign promise made by the Mayor that he has yet to fulfill, or an improvement you’ve experienced with Philadelphia’s Licensing and Inspections Department, or your essay could focus on an idea your local suburban government is doing well and should be replicated in Philadelphia. WHYY will only be able to highlight a few of these essays on our front page, but all submissions that reflect the spirit of It’s Our City will be posted online where they will be accessible by the public. We reserved the right to edit these essays for clarity and for length. We will not change the essential message in your essay. Also please tell us your first and last name, the city you live in, and if you have any political or business connections with the City of Philadelphia.
