Earth Days

Can you remember when everyone was not "Going Green?" Experience the film that recaps the dawn and development of the modern environmental movement - from its post-war rustlings in the 1950s to the 1962 publication of Rachel Carson's incendiary bestseller, Silent Spring, to the first wildly successful 1970 Earth Day celebration and the subsequent firestorm of political action. Painting this dynamic picture with personal testimonies and rare archival media, Earth Days is a poetic meditation on humanity's complex relationship with nature and engaging history of the revolutionary achievements - and missed opportunities - of groundbreaking eco-activism.

Elmo's Earth Day

Elmo and Abby Cadabby invite you to a special celebration of Earth Day! Learn about Earth and the environment with fun science activities, creative crafts and more! Bring your cameras for a special meet-and-greet with walk-around Sesame Street characters, Elmo and Abby Cadabby.

ITVS

How far would you travel to heal someone you love? For one Texas couple, it means a spiritual journey halfway around the world to Mongolia. When their son is diagnosed with Autism, they seek the best treatments but nothing works... until they discover their son's connection to horses and the effect it has on him. Part travel adventure and shamanic quest, The Horse Boy is the story of how one family found a gateway into understanding their son's life. Following the film, we'll screen short multi-media projects created by local families, in partnership with WHYY's Learning Lab, documenting their personal experiences with Autism. WHYY's own Dr. Dan Gottlieb will lead an audience discussion about healing journeys with Autism.
