Film and Journalism Summer Camps

WHYY Film and Journalism Camps offer intensive multi-week experiences for teens finishing 9th-12th grades. The project-based camps provide immersive media experiences in which the participants work in teams to create original productions. Perfect for teens interested in broadcast, video, film, journalism, photography, and acting.

Y201 — WHYY Young Journalists Summer Camp
This award-winning, hands-on camp gives you the opportunity to use WHYY production equipment to develop and produce news stories based on your interests while under the tutelage of experienced media instructors. Facilitated by the staff of WHYY's Dorrance H. Hamilton Public Media Commons, the two-week intensive camp features lectures and training sessions from the renowned staff of WHYY's news department. Y202 — WHYY Film Academy
Join our award-winning staff for an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of movie production with other young filmmakers. Learn to script, shoot, act and edit movies as you create your own short film from script to screen, over three fun-filled weeks. If you have the desire to tell a story or have an interest in filmmaking, this is an excellent chance to express your ideas and use professional equipment! For students currently in 9th-12th grades.
