Quick Review: Pierce Brosnan was born to be Bond. If only the producers had been willing to let him play Bond throughout - not just in the casino, and with M and Q - this would have been in the classic 007 tradition. As it was, they apparently decided that young audiences (who may never have heard of James Bond) needed action with lots of special effects. They may have been right. Box office worldwide is spectacular. Still, it's to be hoped that the success of Brosnan in the role will free him to settle into one of filmdom's most beloved characters and leave the overdone action to Van Damme, Norris and friends.
