News from the Campaign Trail:

City Council - With all the attention being paid to the race for mayor in Philadelphia, it's esier to forget some of the other city officials who are up for election this year. All 17 Philadelphia city council seats are up for grabs -- 10 of those seats go to district council members, with 7 seats representing the whole city. Other Issues - When Philadelphia voters go to the polls in five days, they'll be asked to decide on much more than who should be the next mayor. Candidates are also running for City Council, judicial elections, and City Commissioner among other positions. Hip-Hop Rally - With the Philadelphia Mayoral Election now six days away, Democratic incumbent John Street and Republican challenger Sam Katz are trying to get voters to the polls. Labor Endorsements - Both candidates in the Philadelphia mayor's race are stepping up the pace of their campaigns in the final days, with dozens of events planned between today and Tuesday. Race - More than two thirds of Philadelphia voters will cast their ballot next Tuesday based on racial lines. Recent polls show that race is the number one factor determining how Philadelphians will vote. National Politics - Philadelphia Mayor John Street and Republican challenger Sam Katz are ramping up their campaign efforts with less than two weeks to go until election day. Sam Katz made a series of stops at rallies and candidates forums last night. Race - The single largest factor in determining who Philadelphia voters will choose in the mayoral election is race. An NBC/SurveyUSA poll out this week says black voters are eight times more likely to vote for Mayor Street than white voters. In a city with more African American residents than white, race has become a key issue in the mayor's race. Poll Results - Numbers out today have Mayor John Street and Republican challenger Sam Katz at a statistical tie. The poll puts Street ahead with 42 percent of the vote, to Katz's 34, but those numbers are within the margin of error. Crime - Both candidates in Philadelphia's mayoral race are trying to take a bite out of crime. Mayor John Street is counting on his popular anti-drug, anti-crime program, the Safe Streets Initiative to show that he is tough on crime. Molotovgate - >Police and fire officials continue to investigate the possibility that an unlit molotov cocktail was thrown into the North Philadelphia campaign office of Republican mayoral candidate Sam Katz. A wick soaked in flammable liquid was recovered at the site, but Fire Commissioner Harold Hairston says since the bottle was allegedly thrown out with the trash, he's not willing to jump to conclusions. But Katz says officials on-site found plenty of evidence that it was an unlit firebomb. Meanwhile, both Sam Katz and John Street are urging voters to stay calm. WHYY's Brad Linder, reports.
