The
Education Connection Project
Workforce Technology Support
High School Student Mentor-based Supervision
Approach: Today, schools are increasingly under preasure to provide workforce development training. And this is especially true when it comes to technology skills. In fact, communities are in such desparate need of skilled technology speciallists that the large scale delivery of technology into the homes would end in dissaster unless there was a comprehensive workforce development program implemented in parallel with an Infrastrcture program. The Education Connection Project has partnered with Howard Vo-Tech High School n Wilmiington and Seaford High School in Delaware to utlize technology interns who will be assembling, delivering, and supporting the computers as well as training the middle school students who will be receiving the computers throughout the year.
Partners: Electric Schoolhouse, DCANet, Americorps Kickstart Program, Urban Technology Project, Public Allies of Delaware
