The Education Connection Project

The Goal of the Education Connection Project is to improve education by working with high school students who help to place low-cost computer and Internet technologies into the homes of middle school students while improving their academic performance. The project has been focusing on 5th & 6th grade classes in Delaware over the past 3 years. Each year, the project builds over 200 computers in order to work with approximately 150 students in Technology, Mathematics and Science.

The question is "Can this model be demonstrated and then replicated for school and non-school based organizations?"

The Education Connection Project is funded in part by a US Department of Education 1996 Technology Challenge Grant, The City of Wilmington, Seaford School District, & Bell Atlantic in partnership with The State of Delaware Department of Education,  Microsoft, DCANet, The University of Delaware Mathematics & Science Education Resource Center, The WHYY Electric Schoolhouse, Americorps Public Allies of Delaware, Americorps Kickstart Program, The Philadelphia School District's Techcorps Urban Technology Project, The Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, Christina School District, Red Clay School District, Goodwill Industries, E-Peddlers, The Philadelphia Re-Use Collaborative, The Corporation for National Service & Catalyst
