FAQ

Can I come to the Connections Festival for free?
Yes! The Connections Festival is completely FREE and open to the public. We only ask that you register for the concert in advance so that we have an idea of how many people will be coming.

If I register for the festival, does my friend/spouse/partner also need to register?
Yes. We ask that anyone 18 or older register for the event.

What about my kids? Do I need to register my kids to attend?
No. You don't have to register your kids as long as they are accompanied by a registered adult.

I see that there are three different registration options... What's that all about?
Because WHYY is a non-profit public broadcasting company, we want to make sure that the many people who support us as Members get some sort of special benefits during the Connections Festival... we also hope that non-members will be encouraged to support the station that brings them Fresh Air with Terry Gross, Downton Abbey, NewsWorks.org and much more!

If you are not a WHYY member, and have no interest in any of the benefits members will receive during (or after the concert)/you're only interested in coming to the concert, that's cool... just register for the GENERAL ADMISSION option

If you're already a WHYY member or sustainer, you can register through the CURRENT MEMBER/SUSTAINER option – you'll have access to our Member Oasis tent and/or our Sustainer Lounge during the concert!

If you're not a member, but think that supporting public media is important and think that WHYY hosting a concert with your favorite bands is awesome, you can become a member through the BECOME A MEMBER/SUSTAINER option. If you choose to become a member/sustainer before or at the event, you'll have access to the WHYY Member VIP areas!

When do the concerts start/end?
Saturday's concert is from approximantly 3 – 9 pm; Sunday's concert is from 12 noon – 5 pm.

What are set times?
We will be announcing set times via the Connections Festival facebook page soon. Like the Festival on facebook for this and other important festival updates.

Are there any kid activities?
Yes. WHYY has partnered with the folks from the Partnership for the Delaware River Estuary to have PBS Kids costumed character SuperWHY! at their Coast Day celebration on Saturday, Sept. 7. A full list of Coast Day activities can be found here -- www.delawareestuary.org/coast-day

Why do I have to register to come to the Festival?
There are a few reasons why we want you to register for the festival, the most important reason being that we need to know how many people to expect. We also want you to register because we have some raffle items that we'll be giving away via email – so don't give us a fake email address when you register!

Will there be food/drinks available for purchase during the festival?
Yes. There will be several options for food and drink.

I'd like to promote my business, band, artwork, etc. at the Festival... how can I do that?
We'd love to have you at the festival as one of our event sponsors. For more information about Connection Festival sponsorship (including our affordable options for small businesses/non-profits) contact Roseann Oleyn at roleyn@whyy.org.

Your list of questions doesn't answer MY question? What should I do?
No problem – Email WHYY's Member and Audience Services department at memberservices@whyy.org and we'll do our very best to get back to you quickly.
