Snapshots From My Journey

Becky Krimstein
Becky Krimstein is a five-year breast cancer survivor and the co-producer and writer of "A Cancer Rainbow: Snapshots From My Journey". Inspired by the people she met after she was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 35, Becky and her husband Gary produced a documentary that chronicles Becky's breast cancer journey.

Becky's professional background is in television. She has held news management positions at WTVR in Richmond, Virginia; WTNH in New Haven, Connecticut; and WUSA in Washington, DC. She was also a news manager at The Associated Press. Becky and her husband are the co-owners of Beckstein Productions, a video production company in North Potomac, Maryland.

Becky spends much of her free time volunteering for breast cancer organizations. She serves on the Consumer Advisory Board at the Suburban Breast Center in Bethesda, Maryland and is on the Survivor Committee for the Komen National Race For the Cure. She is also a member of the Young Survival Coalition and "My Breast Friends". Becky received the 2002 Komen/ BMW Local Hero Award for her work in the fight against breast cancer.

Gary Krimstein
Gary Krimstein is the co-producer, photographer, and editor of "A Cancer Rainbow: Snapshots From My Journey". He is an eight-time Emmy Award-winning Editor, and has won numerous other awards for his editing achievements.

Gary has held Editor positions at WTVR in Richmond, Virginia; WFSB in Hartford, Connecticut; and NBC4 in Washington, DC. He was also the Senior Editor at Ventana Productions in Washington, DC. Gary and his wife Becky own their own video production company, Beckstein Productions, in North Potomac, Maryland.

Gary has worked on many documentaries during his television career, but describes "A Cancer Rainbow: Snapshots From My Journey" as his most rewarding and fulfilling project.

Jeannine Salamone
Diagnosed with breast cancer a day before her 30th birthday in May 2000, Jeannine is dedicated to helping the Young Survival Coalition (YSC) achieve its mission of educating and influencing the medical, research, breast cancer and legislative communities to address breast cancer in women 40 and under. She serves on the board of the Young Survival Coalition as co-chair of Marketing and Communications. Jeannine also serves on the board of the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation. She is a graduate of the National Breast Cancer Coalition's Project LEAD. Jeannine received a Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York, College at Oswego in 1992 and currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband John. She is Vice President of the Electronic Press Release Service.

Jeanne Chavious, MSW
Chavious, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work, and a member of the Association of Oncology Social Workers, is the Director of Patient Services for Oncology at Temple University where she oversees the staff who provide counseling services for patients in the Medical, Radiation, and Bone Marrow Transplant programs. She is also on the Board of the Pennsylvania South East Region of the American Cancer Society, a Task Force member of the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation's "Safe Circle " outreach and education program for African American women, and serves on the community advisory board for the Wellness Community.
