On Our Own Terms: Moyers on Dying in America

WHYY is pleased to invite you to attend a leadership training videoconference for the new public television series On Our Own Terms: Moyers on Dying in America on Tuesday, April 18, from noon to 2 p.m.

The videoconference and a follow-up discussion will be held at two locations: the WHYY Technology Center on Sixth Street between Arch and Race on Independence Mall in Philadelphia, and WHYY's Delaware Operation Center at 625 Orange Street in Wilmington, DE.

On Our Own Terms: Moyers on Dying in America is a four-hour series hosted by Bill Moyers which will be broadcast on WHYY-TV in September, 2000. The series highlights efforts to improve end-of-life care and models of how it is being provided. In conjunction with the programming, a national outreach campaign will connect resources at the local level to help people explore their vision of the care they want at the end of life.

Designed as a training seminar, the 90-minute interactive videoconference will connect people across the country who want to deepen the dialogue on end-of-life issues and learn about creative ways to effect change in the community. Following the videoconference, we can begin planning local outreach activities that will call attention to the Bill Moyers series and help encourage discussion -- and action --- in our own community. Complimentary box lunches will be provided beginning at 11:45 a.m.

You may register for the videoconference online, or by calling 215-351-1685. Please register by Thursday, April 13.
