Healthy Living for Women "Breast Cancer"
The Basics on Breast Cancer:
- Risk factors for breast cancer include: family history, the age at which the woman started menstruation, the age at which she begins menopause, the age at which she has her first full-term pregnancy.
- Any woman who finds a lump in her breast should have it checked immediately. Early detection is a crucial factor in surviving breast cancer.
- Having your first full-term pregnancy before the age of 30 will help reduce your risk for breast cancer. Other risk reduction factors include decreasing alcohol consumption, regular exercise (usually 3 _ hours per week), reducing fat in your diet, smoking cessation and positive thinking.
- Soy products may contribute to the prevention of breast cancer but check with your doctor before adding it to your diet.
