The Congregation
WHYY invites you to a free screening and discussion of the PBS documentary "The Congregation," which profiles a dramatic year in the life of the First United Methodist Church of Germantown during a time of profound change.
Special guest, former associate pastor Beth Stroud, who was recently deprived of her rank as minister by the United Methodist Church because of her sexual orientation, will add insights from her experiences of coming out to the congregation and her subsequent church trial. Kenwyn K. Smith, PhD, associate professor of organizational behavior at the University of Pennsylvania, will moderate audience discussion and Q&A.
