Civic Space
Civic Space is a common ground, a public space for the sharing
of ideas. It brings people from diverse communities together
face-to-face, encouraging communication, the mutual exploration
of ideas, problem solving and celebration. At WHYY, our off-air
Civic Space events relate to, reinforce and expand on WHYY's
on-air educational, arts and culture, and news and information,
and workforce development programming.
The
Independence Foundation Civic Space is a physical facility found
in the heart of WHYY's Technology Center. Civic Space is also
conceptual, taking place anywhere in the region where people
come together - schools, museums, performance places, and many
public arenas. And Civic Space is also virtual, accessed through
the existing and new technologies of WHYY's website, multiple
digital TV channels and radio signals.
If your community or non-profit organization
is planning a public event which is aligned with our on-air
programming, and you would like to explore the idea of partnership
