WHYY is teaming up with the Wilmington Blue Rocks for a special night of books and baseball. On Tuesday, August 14, all children accompanied by an adult who come to the stadium with a new or used book in good condition will receive free admission to the game. Nancy Karibjanian, anchor of WHYY's nightly newscast Delaware Tonight will throw out the first pitch at 7:05 p.m.

Every Sunday home game during the Blue Rocks' 2001 season is "Sunday Story Day with the Blue Rocks." Several players read stories to kids in the stadium prior to the afternoon game. Celebrating a shared commitment to reading and literacy, WHYY and the Blue Rocks will distribute all books collected at the August 14 game to three organizations throughout Delaware.
