University City Arts League
Andy Warhol, Fernand Légér, Roy Lichtenstein and Jasper Johns are among the artists whose works are on display at the University City Arts League's gallery. Hidden Gems of West Philadelphia, Works on Paper from the Collection of Sylvia Egnal features art from the stellar but little-know collection of Sylvia Egnal, a long-time West Philadelphia resident. Among the highlights of the collection are a series of Japanese woodcuts given by her uncle, the late Herman Lorber, a New York City doctor with an extensive collection. The exhibit also features work by nationally-known, West Philadelphia-based artist Tremain Smith. Hidden Gems can be seen through July 5 at 4226 Spruce Street, Philadelphia.
