Community Art Gallery of The Philadelphia Foundation
The Community Art Gallery of The Philadelphia Foundation presents "Community Murals, an Appreciation: A History of the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program," an exhibition chronicling the remarkable transformation of Philadelphia's neighborhoods as a direct result of the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program. Nearly 3000 murals painted since 1984 have become an enduring part of Philadelphia's urban landscape, adding a new dimension to the city's character while bringing inspiration and hope to its many communities. This exhibition includes both archival and documentary photographs as well as a mural designed and created for the Vine Street Expressway, but which was not completed due to budget constraints. On view through October 14 at 1234 Market Street, Suite 1800, Philadelphia.
