Radio Spotlight

Passover Special
Compiled by Anna Christopher

Why This Night: A Passover Special
Public radio personality Larry Josephson engages Rabbi Ismar Schorsch, chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary, in a vivid discussion about the history and liturgy of Passover, one of the most important holidays on the Jewish calendar. Their conversation focuses on the Seder -- a ritual meal that recounts the Jews' escape from slavery in Egypt and their arrival in Jerusalem -- and is interwoven with sacred and secular Passover music. Rabbi Schorsch also interprets the meaning of the holiday within the context of terrorism today and through the continuing strife in the Middle East.
