Proud to Serve

Proud to ServeOne Spirit, One Mind, One Body
Respected journalist Walter Cronkite hosts the timely new special Proud to Serve: The Men and Women of the U.S. Army, a salute to those who dedicate their lives to protecting the United States in every aspect of Army service -- from decorated officers and triage nurses to recruiters and mechanics.

Veterans from different generations and current service men and women share their poignant stories of courage, sacrifice and triumph, including Operation Iraqi Freedom POW Jessica Lynch; former Senator Bob Dole; "Army brat" turned basketball star Shaquille O'Neal and his staff sergeant father; 103-year-old World War I veteran Frank Woodruff Buckles; and eight-time Purple Heart recipient Walter Riner.

They also explain the teamwork, responsibility and commitment necessary to be, as Drill Sergeant David Floyd puts it, of "one spirit, one mind, one body" when defending freedom around the world.
