WHYY Late Night

TV12's late night highlights
By Allison Gaddess

Super Bridge
Spanning the mighty Mississippi River from the small town of Alton, Illinois to St. Louis, Missouri, the state-of-the-art Clark Bridge has been called "the bridge of the future."

NOVA documents the challenges involved in building this extraordinary structure and tells the tale of a sleepy community for whom the bridge represents a gateway to economic prosperity.
Sunday, August 3 at 1:50 a.m.

Summerstock
Each summer, audiences delight in the productions staged in countless community theaters across the country. In this program, filmmaker Robby Henderson chronicles one season at the Pioneer Playhouse, Kentucky's oldest outdoor theater, where aspiring actors have been putting on shows for 50 years.

From the auditions in New York City right up to the final curtain call, Henderson (a Pioneer Playhouse alum) captures the drama of rehearsals, the blossoming love affairs and the excitement of opening night, and even follows the cast as they tear down the set when the season comes to a close.
Monday, August 25 at midnight

Soundstage Marathon
How can you attend six spectacular concerts in one night, without ever having to buy a ticket? Tune in to TV12 and boogie until the wee hours of the morning as WHYY broadcasts six selections from the critically-acclaimed music series Soundstage.

The lineup features performances by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Alison Krauss + Union Station, former Doobie Brother Michael McDonald, Lucinda Williams and Lyle Lovett.
