The EarthTwo programs showcase America's tremendous young talents

The immense talent of some of our country's young people, including several Delaware Valley residents, is on display on WHYY TV12 this month:

The 2003 National Geographic Bee Alex Trebek will moderate the 15th consecutive competition in Washington, D.C. Students from grades four through eight representing all 50 states and several territories square off in school and state-level competitions.

Jacob Arem, an eighth grader at Akiba Hebrew Academy in Merion, Pennsylvania and David Pizzuto, an eighth grader from the Sanford School in Hockessin, Delaware were both 2003 state finalists and now move on to the national competition.

The number of contestants is then narrowed to 10 finalists, who compete for $50,000 in college scholarship prizes, answering questions on topics spanning meteorology, international affairs, culture and social history. Thursday, May 22 at 9 p.m.

The 2003 All-State Music Festival More than 500 of Pennsylvania's best high school musicians and vocalists, chosen from highly-competitive district and regional auditions, gather to celebrate their dedication to music during this annual festival.

Held this year at Founder's Hall in Hershey, PA, the program features individual and group performances of band, orchestra, choral and jazz music. Monday, May 26 at 4:30 p.m.
