Leona Lion WHYY is inviting Y Kids Club members and their families to a special "Share a Story" event on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. until noon at the WHYY Technology Center, 150 N. 6th Street in Philadelphia.

Kids will have the opportunity to meet Leona the Lion from Between the Lions and watch an episode of this fun, literacy-based program, which airs weekdays at 11:30 a.m. on WHYY TV12. Special guest readers will be on-hand to entertain the kids with stories, while the adults attend a workshop on literacy to learn how they can engage the children in their lives in more reading activities. The kids will also be able to make some colorful, take-home crafts.

All Y Kids Club members are asked to bring a new or gently-used book with them, which will be donated to literacy projects throughout the Delaware Valley. Space is limited for this event, so call (215) 351-5870 by Friday, May 9 to reserve your spot.

Fly with a dragon in a land apart!

Y Kids Club members will have a chance to meet some of their favorite Dragon Tales characters at an exclusive meet-and-greet event on Saturday, May 31 at 9:15 a.m. when the dragons fly into the First Union Spectrum for Dragon Tales Live "Journey to Crystal Cave," an all-new adventure featuring a kid-sized mystery, sing-along music, eye-popping special effects and non-stop fun. Space is limited for the meet-and-greet, so call (215) 351-5870 to reserve your spot, and don't forget to bring your camera!

All WHYY members will receive a special $3 discount on seats (excluding VIP seats) to the Dragon Tales Live production from May 28 through June 1 at the First Union Spectrum. For tickets, call (215) 336-2000.

If you have an annual WHYY membership of $60 or more, you can enroll the children in your life (sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, grandnieces, grandnephews or young friends) in the Y Kids Club.
