How can you watch WHYY in high definition? WHYY currently broadcasts eight hours of digital (DTV) and high-definition (HDTV) television programming from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. each weekday and from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday on Channel 12.1. (A digital simulcast of TV12 programs runs from 3 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday on this channel.) To watch WHYY's DTV and HDTV programming, viewers must own a high-definition television set or have a television set that can be hooked up to an external digital TV receiver (set-top box). WHYY's digital channel is also available to Comcast Digital Cable subscribers throughout the Greater Philadelphia region on Channel 190 and to Urban CableWorks Digital Service customers in West Philadelphia and Manayunk on Channel 86. Current programming on WHYY's DTV channel includes Chefs A'Field, Nature and Smart Travels with Rudy Maxa.
