Radio SpotlightsWomen, Money and Social Change Melissa Weiler Gerber, Executive Director of Womens Way, and Lynn Yeakel, Chair of Womens Way 25, moderate the discussion, which was the final forum held as part of "A Celebration of Change," a year-long celebration commemorating the 25th anniversary of Womens Way. Friday, January 24 (Part 1) and Friday, January 31 (Part 2) at 9 p.m. We Were Here Hosted by Lee Hay, the program features excerpts from Dr. King's speeches and essays, including his powerful "Birmingham" and "I Have a Dream" speeches, interwoven with the works of vocal ensemble Sweet Honey in the Rock; poet and playwright Nikki Giovanni; Black Panther Bobby Seale; and gospel singer Mahalia Jackson. Listeners will also hear Billie Holliday's haunting "Strange Fruit," John Coltrane's "Alabama" and songs from Al Green, Earl King, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Wynton Marsalis.
