WHYY for Kids
Two new programs, based on popular children's books, join the weekday lineup on WHYY TV12 this month. Both kids and their parents will enjoy watching these beloved characters pop off the page. The Berenstain Bears and Seven Little Monsters Mama, Papa, Brother and Sister, the lovable country bears from the books by Stan and Jan Berenstain, will delight and captivate children (and even parents) as they confront everyday dilemmas and challenges as a family. Seven Little Monsters, created and illustrated by award-winning author Maurice Sendak, features seven 10-foot-tall giants who go to school and are expected to do their chores just like regular children. When the monsters work together, they learn how to live peacefully within the community. The show premieres Monday, January 6 at 8:30 a.m. with a special three-episode block. George Shrinks The pint-size boy teaches children how to solve problems with a no-fail attitude and a fierce determination that is anything but small, even when a simple task like retrieving Mom's ring from the disposal is like a trip to the center of the earth. The show premieres Monday, January 6 at 2:30 p.m. with a special three-episode block. New Weekend Lineup Saturdays Sundays |
