TV12 Movie of the Month
National Velvet (1944) Twelve-year-old Elizabeth Taylor captured audiencesŐ hearts as Velvet Brown, a shy girl with a passion for horses. When Velvet wins an unruly horse in a raffle, she and her orphan friend (Mickey Rooney) train him to run in the famed Grand National Steeplechase. On the eve of the race, the jockey refuses to ride the horse, forcing young Velvet to make a bold decision. Donald Crisp, Anne Revere and Angela Lansbury also star.
