On January 29, 1998, a weather system tore through Hawaii that was so dangerous the Coast Guard called a "Condition Black" – all access to the water was denied – but surfers from around the world refused to walk away from a chance to surf some of the largest waves ever recorded.

This Nature program combines the surfers’ eyewitness accounts and stunning footage of colossal waves that reached up to 40-feet high to examine the extreme conditions that took the island by storm. Tuesday, November 5 at 2 a.m.

Discovering the Real World of Harry Potter
Fans have been waiting all year to see this bespectacled boy wizard’s continuing adventures in the new Harry Potter film, which hits theaters on Friday, November 15. Just where did author J.K. Rowling get the inspiration to create such a magical world?

This behind-the-scenes special features interviews with the author and those who know her and visits some of the locations used in the films to reveal the people, places, legends and myths that prompted Rowling to write her best-selling books. Sunday, November 10 at 1:15 a.m.

Independence HallHistoric Pennsylvania
This program celebrates Pennsylvania’s rich history by taking viewers on a tour through some of the state’s most memorable places.

Visits to Independence Hall, George Washington’s headquarters at Valley Forge, and the Gettysburg Battlefield tell the story of colonial life and military conflict during the state’s early days, while a ride on the Strasburg Railroad through picturesque Lancaster County and a look at Frank Lloyd Wright’s stunning "Fallingwater" illustrate how the state’s natural beauty inspires its residents. Saturday, November 23 at 6 a.m.

Jackie Behind the MythJackie: Behind the Myth
On November 22, 1963, Americans were stunned by the assassination of President John Kennedy, and the county mourned with his young wife, Jacqueline Kennedy. Here, her remarkable life story, from her seemingly idyllic youth, to her days as a beloved First Lady, to her post-White House marriage to Aristotle Onassis, is told in her own words through her poetry and journal entries. Sunday, November 24 at 4 a.m.
