WHYY hosts national webcast for family caregivers WHYY and its Caring Community are hosting two events this month designed to educate and empower family caregivers throughout the Delaware Valley. On Friday, November 15 at 9:30 a.m. in the WHYY Independence Foundation Civic Space, nationally-known author and speaker Wendy Lustbader will conduct a free workshop for family caregivers. The workshop is sponsored by Children of Aging Parents (CAPS), one of WHYYs Caring Community partners, and lunch is included. For information and reservations, call 1-800-227-7294. On Wednesday, November 20 at 7 p.m., WHYY is partnering with the National Family Caregiver Association (NFCA) to host "Strengthening Families and Communities for Caregiving" in the Independence Foundation Civic Space, the first of five town meetings to be held in cities across the country that will bring family caregivers together to share their needs and concerns with policy makers and community leaders who can make a difference. As the NFCAs media partner, WHYY will webcast these town meetings on http://www.widerhorizons.org. For reservations, call (215) 928-2443.
