An old story gets a fresh new look
Thirty three-years ago, public television viewers were enchanted by the passionate story of the Forsyte clan, adapted for TV from John Galsoworthy's Nobel Prize-winning epic novel of true love and uncontrolled lust in Victorian England.

Now, Masterpiece Theatre presents an all-new, seven-part version of The Forsyte Saga for a new generation. Starring Damian Lewis (Band of Brothers) and Gina McKee (Notting Hill), the series follows the fortunes of the wealthy and headstrong Forsyte clan as they navigate the complicated twists and turns of love. Premieres Sunday, October 6 at 8 p.m.

Caring for those in need
New studies suggest that almost every person in his or her lifetime will have to care for an elderly adult and be cared for as a result of medical advancements that have made it possible for people to live longer.

Hosted by acclaimed actor Joe Mantegna, the groundbreaking program And Thou Shalt Honor is the first major public television initiative on caregiving, an emerging health care issue of staggering proportions. Filmed all over America, the program shares inspirational stories of people caring for parents, spouses and friends and examines the many hardships as well as the joy involved with caring for those in need. Wednesday, October 9 at 9 p.m.

Frankl's Choice
The great neurologist and psychoanalyst Victor Frankl was the only member of his family to survive the Holocaust. He reasoned that he had lived through one of history's most horrendous chapters for a reason and began perfecting and teaching one of the principals of logotherapy, which focuses on the ability of human beings to transcend suffering when they are able to discover and experience meaning in their lives.

Presented nationally by WHYY, Frankl's Choice examines the life of this great humanist and provides insight into the powerful messages Frankl expressed through his teaching and writings, including the timeless book Man's Search for Meaning. Academy Award-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss and actress Kathleen Chalfant (The Guardian) read selections from some of Frankl's works. Thursday, October 24 at 10 p.m.
