Company SpotlightFostering a lifelong love of learning For the past five years, the New Jersey, Delaware and Philadelphia area Lexus dealers have offered significant underwriting support for WHYY-TV programs such as The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, primetime programming, including Masterpiece Theatre, NOW with Bill Moyers and NOVA, as well as performing arts pieces from Great Performances and other special arts presentations on TV12. For Lexus, being a good corporate citizen is integral to its corporate philosophy. A community's and a corporation's strength comes from its people and its commitment to service, quality and enrichment opportunities. It is this strong idea of corporate citizenship, blended with a passionate pursuit of perfection, that leads Lexus to seek out and partner with organizations like WHYY. These organizations share Lexus' philosophy of bringing an unparalleled world of ideas, experiences and opportunities to the communities they serve. For Lexus, involvement with WHYY and public broadcasting stations across the country is an investment in preserving a valuable educational resource for all ages. Each of WHYY's efforts -- classic programming, educational forums for adults, investigative series, spotlights on the arts and culture and over 10 hours of daily programming dedicated to children -- reaches out to all corners of our community. Both WHYY and Lexus are committed to attaining the highest level of quality and to cultivating both curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. Through this affiliation, Lexus has been successful in building its brand image as it aligns itself with public broadcasting locally and nationally. This past year, Lexus has continued its exemplary involvement with WHYY. During WHYY's March and December 2002 on-air membership drives, Jack Cornish, General Manager of Wilkie Lexus, visited our studios and offered special challenge grants that encouraged numerous callers throughout the region to phone in with their own pledge of financial support for WHYY. Beyond being a patron of public broadcasting in the Delaware Valley, the New Jersey, Delaware and Philadelphia Area Lexus dealers proudly take a leadership role in the arts community. For the 12th year, Lexus is supporting the Philadelphia Orchestra as its exclusive automotive sponsor for the 2001-2002 season. Lexus also participated as sponsors during seven different charity golf events through the region, including the annual St. Francis Golf and Tennis Outing, The 21st Annual Harry Levin Memorial Golf Tournament and The 14th Annual Philadelphia Bar Foundation outing. In addition to supporting charity golf events, Lexus participated as sponsor of the United Jewish Communities - General Assembly meeting, as well as Zoobilee, on behalf of the Philadelphia Zoo.
