WHYY community activities for March

WHYY Delaware Women's Leadership Series
Women in Business, brings women personal and professional lessons from some of the region's most successful businesswomen.

Each of these leaders will offer her insights and experience in an intimate, interactive setting, and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, meet the speakers and network with others.

  • Market Your MAGIC on April 10
    Marilyn Brody, president and founder of Brody Communications Ltd. explains that the ability to market oneself can make the difference between being remembered as a brilliant leader and not being remembered at all.
  • Succeeding in Today's Entrepreneurial Society on April 17
    Carol Marturano-Becker, president, and Nanci Mayer-Mihalski, executive vice president, of IMPACT Learning, Inc. show participants how to apply the entrepreneurial practices required to build business acumen, increase self-confidence and utilize the "tool" of innovation.
  • Leading with Emotion on April 24
    Christine R. Dreyfus of Dreyfus & Associates, Inc. explains how developing Emotional Intelligence, including characteristics such as integrity, authenticity, empathy and resilience, can make you a more effective leader.

Each session will be held at the WHYY Studios in Wilmington, 625 Orange St. Registration for all sessions and a light meal begins at 5:45 p.m. Presentations begin at 6:15 p.m. The cost for the entire series is $70 for members of WHYY, DE State Chamber of Commerce and Wilmington Women in Business and $110 for non-members. 'Thank God for Jazz' service
WHYY presents "Thank God for Jazz" on Sunday, April 21 at 2 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 642 Market St. in Camden, NJ. Shining a spotlight on the tri-state region's jazz scene, the service will feature a quintet including Camden artists Alan Nelson on drums and Sam Dockery on piano, and Tony Williams on tenor saxophone, Buster Williams on bass and Terell Stafford on trumpet.

Presented in partnership with the Office of Mayor Gwendolyn A. Faison, the Camden Diocese and the City of Camden Department of Health and Human Services, the service is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception. For information, call (215) 351-5861.
