Chef Jim Coleman celebrates American cuisine at The Philadelphia Antiques Show

AntiqueWHYY is the proud community partner for the 41st annual Philadelphia Antiques Show, the premier American antiques and decorative arts show in the country, from April 6 through 10 at the Armory, 33rd and Market Streets in Philadelphia. Fifty-six of the nation's leading antiques dealers will gather in Philadelphia to showcase their finest Americana. This year's Show features the special loan exhibit "This Glorious House STENTON," which includes never-before-seen furniture and artifacts from James Logan's 1730 Pennsylvania country plantation. In addition to this unique exhibit, novices and experienced collectors alike will be able to view antiques and decorative arts from a variety of specialties.

Among the week's special events is "AMERICA the Beautiful: A Tasting of Our Bountiful Harvest" on Wednesday, April 10 at noon. Chef Jim Coleman, host of WHYY-FM's A Chef's Table and Flavors of America on TV12, will celebrate the vitality of American cooking at a three-course, sit-down luncheon. Tickets to this special dining experience are $55 and $75 (includes an autographed copy of the cookbook Jim Coleman's Flavors of America.)

General admission tickets to the Show are $12 at the door, and WHYY members receive a $2 discount off the admission price. (See this month's MemberCard Specials for more information.) Proceeds benefit the Institute of Environmental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. Visitors must bring a photo ID in order to be admitted to _the Armory.

For information, call (215) 387-3500 or visit the Show on the Web at PhilaAntiques.com.
