"LIDIA'S
FAMILY TABLE" CONTINUES WITH 26 MORE EPISODES
ON PUBLIC TELEVISION
LIDIA'S FAMILY
TABLE, the 30-minute cooking series starring Lidia
Matticchio Bastianich, will release 26 new episodes
in January 2006 as the acclaimed show begins its
second season.
LIDIA'S FAMILY
TABLE, which made its debut on public television
stations nationwide in the spring of 2005, is distributed
nationally by American Public Television and is
presented nationally by WHYY in Philadelphia.
Season two
of LIDIA'S FAMILY TABLE continues to feature one
of America's best-loved Italian chefs preparing
classic Italian recipes in her warm, Mediterranean-style
kitchen surrounded by her family. Everybody chips
in, and at any given time, four generations gather
to cook, eat and celebrate the joys of life. The
program will air at various times on local public
broadcasting stations across the nation.
Bastianich
has been a public television favorite since her
first cooking series premiered in 1998. Over the
past seven years, Lidia has become one of America’s
most beloved television chefs and her two previous
series, LIDIA'S ITALIAN-AMERICAN KITCHEN and LIDIA'S
FAMILY KITCHEN continue to attract record viewers.
The new
2006 season includes some wonderful new shows --
"The Cod Story," with her mother, known
as Grandma Erminia; "La Festa," with her
son Joe; and "Lasagna for Dinner & Dessert."
The recipes
prepared on the show can be found in the Lidia’s
Family Table companion cookbook (Knopf 2004, $35.00).
LIDIA'S FAMILY
TABLE is produced by Tavola Productions, Inc., presented
by WHYY in Philadelphia and will premiere in January
2006 on public television stations throughout the
country. Please check local listings for the exact
date and time.
In addition
to her weekly show, Lidia will continue to make
personal appearances at public television pledge
drives and events in several cities throughout the
country. Her past pledge appearances include KRMA,
KQED, WTTW, WLIW, DPTV, WQED, KCPT, WHYY and NJN.
